Abstract

The wheel load acting on the rails is measured with force sensors (1.1, 1.2,... 2.1, 2.2) which are arranged on the rails at equal distances along the measured distance (O-L). The measurement pulses of the measured wheel load are fed to a recursive digital filter with low-pass behaviour (5) in the rhythm in which they are produced. The dynamic portion of the wheel load is suppressed in this way and the output signal corresponds to the static wheel load. In order to measure the wheel loads of several axles simultaneously, each axle (3.1, 3.2...) is assigned a digital filter (5.1, 5.2...). A multiplex switch (4) is controlled in the rhythm of the signals output by the force sensors and feeds the measurement values of in each case one of the wheels, the said values coming from the force sensors, to a digital filter assigned to this wheel. A computing mechanism (6) which carries out the necessary multiplications and additions and is in each case automatically connected to the digital filters is sufficient to operate the digital filters (5.1, 5.2...).
