Abstract

Transformer sub-station for medium and low voltage use, intended for use in factories and areas accessible to the public. The sub-station, intended to be part set into the ground, allows access via removable panels for maintainance and is convection cooled. Air circulates freely within a prefabricated sheet metal enclosure, over and under the transformer and around the control panels entering via trunking and grillwork and exiting via the same grillwork. The grill has an overlapping corrugated structure such that interference from outside is prevented and circulation maintained even if posters etc, are pasted over it. The transformer is equiped with large cooling fins and is intended to be installed by a crane.
