Abstract

A support for the ceramic baseplate in an electric watch with liquid crystal display, with a pin (7) projecting through an opening (9) in the baseplate (8) into a blind hole in the supporting plate (5). Between the ceramic baseplate (8) and the display element (11) there is an electrical contact (14) with a conducting rubber body. A connection between an upper part (16) of the case (15) holds the upper part of the display element and a lower part of the case is attached to the baseplate (8) so that the baseplate is supported elastically by the connection piece (14). The system provides a reliable construction without an excessively thick ceramic plate or an excessive thickness of the watch as a whole.
