Abstract

The metallising spray gun has a wire to be melted and projected driven into a melting zone where gaseous fuel and combustion-supporting gas converge, together with a driving medium for the particles of molten metal. The end of the gas nozzle has an internal bore of diameter appreciably greater than that of the wire. The gun is equipped with a wire guide whose diameter is roughly that of the wire, set back inside the nozzle. The gas nozzle bore can be between 0.2 and 0.6 mm greater than that of the wire, and the wire guide can be set back for between 3 and 8 mm from the nozzle tip.
