Abstract
A closed loop regulating system utilises a two speed control action with switch-over effected when a threshold value is exceeded. Large disturbances are eliminated with the faster control action, while the slower action ensures high resolution operation under normal conditions. Typically the regulator variation (Xw) is summed with the feedback signal (RF). The difference is compared (VG) with an adjustable threshold value (G) and if a significant error is observed, a switching stage (SW) is triggered. The drive changes to a higher value to provide control action (SG) correction to eliminate the error. The system is particularly suited to pulse controlled electrical motor drives.
