Abstract

The transmission unit is fitted to the bottom of the boat by means of through bolts fitted to the flange (5). The drive is taken by a lay shaft (2) rotating between bearings (10) and coupled to the engine (13) by a flexible coupling (11). The propeller shaft (3) is below the lay shaft and runs between bearings (14). A toothed belt (16) transmits the drive between gear wheels (17, 18) mounted on the shafts. The propeller (8) is surrounded by a protective shroud ring (7). The ring is able to swivel between stops around its vertical axis in between bearings (24, 25).
