Abstract
The security fence is constructed from barbed wire or similar, this being a mineral insulated wire (1) which is twisted and provided with barbs (3, 4). This wire has a metal outer sheath and one or more internal conductors. Each of these is insulated from the remainder and can be used to form a number of separate circuits, or connected together to provide a single integral circuit. Each circuit is interconnected (5) into an electrical supply source (E), a detector (D) and a suitable alarm (A). Variations in electrical resistance operate the alarm if the wire is cut, whether or not a shunt is used.
