Abstract

The clinical fluid warmer, for warming a sterile liquid (e.g. blood plasma or a serum) passing into a patient, consists of two thermally conducting plates between which the flexible tube carrying the liquid is sandwiched. One of the plates has an electrical heating element and the two plates are hinged together along one edge. The flexible tube passes around pegs attached to one of the plates. The pegs define the tube position and each consists of a cylindrical stem attached to one plate and a flat head on which the other plate rests.
