Abstract
The digital linearisation circuit provides automatic correction of a non-linear output of a measuring instrument e.g. resistance thermometer. The analogue signal is converted to digital form (20). The output of the converter is connected to an OR-gate and binary counter (23) whose outputs are connected to the address inputs of a coefficient register (24). The individual points on the non-linear characteristic curve are compared with corresponding points on a straight-line reference so that a correction code-word is produced. The correction signals, in complementary-code, pass to a correction register (25) controlled by a clock-pulse (29). The clock-pulse is gated via a flip-flop (26) and AND-gate (27) to the OR-gate at the input of the binary counter. The digitally-corrected output of the first counter (23) can be used to operate a display device.
