Abstract

The circuit arrangement enables numerical values to be used with a plot of a graph or diagram on the screen of a visual display unit. An address counter (ADZ) receives signals from a bistable unit (BKA) through a conversion unit (UMS4) which has the effect of expanding the time scale by a factor of Z to introduce a complementary train of pulses representing the digital values to be inserted. The address counter is connected to a picture reproduction memory unit (BWS), a comparator (VGL) and a symbol counter (VGZ). Another address unit (ADW4) and comparator (VGL4) check the graph point position to reconcile this with the inserted data. The outputs are connected to an OR gate for output to the VDU.
