Abstract
Device for mfr. of longitudinally watertight communication cables with conductors insulated by synthetic material, in which the core gaps are filled with pasty viscous sealing material which adheres well to the insulation and sheath, comprises a chamber in which the sealing material is converted to a low-viscosity state in and around the cable core, with core inlet and outlet openings provided with coolable sealing elements surrounding the core. A device applies an outer sheath to the core of the cable. Downstream of the sealing element at the outlet opening is a pressure chamber in which the sealing material which is highly viscous and pressurised is forced around the core of the cable, with a cooling effect on the core.
