Abstract

A fire extinguisher has a nozzle which emits a jet of powder and which has a pressure-sensitive valve shutting automatically on cessation of powder flow and having a spring-loaded stem sliding in the lengthwise direction of the nozzle. For use as a fire detector, the extinguisher has an additional nozzle for the emission of water or foam. The opening stroke of the valve stem when regulating the powder flow is limited by a stop, adjustable from outside. The moving portion of the valve can be fixed to the forward end of the stem, whose rear end extends out of the nozzle and carries a stop.
