Abstract

an osteosynthesis member for connecting parts of the spinal vertebrae is a strip shaped metal plate (16 or 17) used with another one to form a pair and secured with screws. The lower part is secured to the sacrum (18) and the holes (3) in the bottom are at an angle to allow the screws to follow the alignment of the attachment surface. The holes (8) through the middle region are at right angles to the surface. These are close together to permit a choice of location for screws for attachment to the pedicures (21, 22) of the fifth lumbar vertebra. A longer plate is used to connect several vertebrae.
