Abstract

A ski, in partic., a ski for use in cross country skiing, is constructed such that there is a series of markings on the base of the ski, which define the area of the ski sole which should be waxed before use. The markings are applied to the inner side of a transparent layer applied to the undersurface or sole of the ski. Further information regarding length and position of sole areas suitable for waxing with reference to various weather or conditions may also be incorporated.
