Abstract

A seat made as a moulded plastics laminate (F) and subdivided into individual elastic blades, used for cars or public transport vehicles, has a contiguous laminate (F) forming the back rest and seat surfaces. The seat surface is concave and incorporates a closed median longitudinal slit (1). Further transverse slits (2) emanate from the median slit to form several transverse cantilever blades. The chair may be of glass-fibre reinforced plastic. Each blade which is defined by the median slit (1) and two transverse slits (2) may reduce in thickness thwards the median slit (1).
