Abstract

Parent patent described a process and device for mfg. ornamental ceramic panels, e.g. wall- or floor-tiles, using an extrusion press, cutters, a stamping press, and drying and baking furnaces. In this addn. the stamping tool contains a press. plate or die provided with a profiled surface which is pressed into the extruded blank, and a device is employed to blow compressed air between the pressed ornamental panel and the pressure plate when the stamping tool is retracted. A second compressed air device is pref. utilized to increase the pressure on the pressure plate when the ornamental surface is being formed. A decorativeprofiled surface can be formed on the ceramic blank simultaneously with the stamping of the panel or tile edges.
