Abstract
An absorbing material for use in hygienic disposable articles consists of a hot-pressed mixt. of 70-98 wt.% of long fibres of natural, regenerated, modified and/or grafted cellulose and 30-2% of a solid, water-sol. thermoplastic binder. The material has high uptake and retention properties for aq. physiological fluids. The material is used in sanitary towels, tampons, babies' napkins, hospital sheets and dressings.
