Abstract
The working fluid leaving a turbine passes through a pre-coller in which it is cooled by high pressure fluid and through a first cooler (4) to a low pressure compressor. From this it passes to a second cooler (6) and then to a high pressure compressor from which it goes to the pre-cooler in which it absorbs heat from the turbine exhaust. It continues to a heater which discharges it to the turbine inlet. Liquified natural gas is admitted (11) to the first and second coolers (4, 6) in which it absorbs heat from the low pressure exhaust fluid. The need to evaporate the liquified gas is thus taken advantage of to increase the temp. difference and therefore output of the closed cycle system.
