Abstract

The cigar lighter for use in a vehicle has an electrical resistance which is mounted in the moving part. The front part of this moving part forms a receptacle for ash produced during the lighting process. The moving part has a claw which grasps flat pieces of the housing. The resistance is covered by a cup, inside a tubular washer to protect the user from burns or ashes from falling on his clothes. When the resistance heats, a bimetal element frees the cup and the element can be withdrawn.
