Abstract

The spring clip (1), of inverted U-section, has projecting barbs (5) which resist clip retraction, and is for use in securing electric cables (3) in grooved mounting blocks. The clip may be of metal or plastic sheet and formed by cutting and folding. The barbs are formed by making curved cuts in the sheet. The location of the cuts ensures that barbs project when the piece is folded into the U shape. The clip may alternatively be formed by extrusion. In this case the clip cross-section has inclined ribs projecting externally from each corner of the U.
