Abstract

The firestop device is for use in a conduit, having an annular transverse support with a fireproof lining shutting off the conduit. The support has means allowing its radial dimensions to be varied. It can be composed of separate sectors joined by devices holding them apart, or an elastic ring (1) split transversely, with one or more diametral arms (5, 6) accommodating the lining. The lining can have one or more fireproof sheets which, when flattened, have the same outline as the internal section of the conduit, fixed to the support and extending in the axial direction, and equipped with elastic devices under tension, tending to unfold them. They are normally prevented from so doing by clips of fusible material.
