Abstract

The system automatically monitors the foetus before confinement. The normal or base level of foetal cardiac frequency is determined and compared with the values of this frequency when slowed down. A parameter is calculated instantly, proportional to the surface area, between the graph of the frequency curve on slowing down and the extension of this curve corresponding to the base level. A detector can be placed near the foetus for its heartbeats, the detector signals being electronically transformed into a voltage proportional to the heartbeat frequency.
