Abstract

The ultra fast microfilm reader can be connected to a computer. It provides rapid display on the screen of a reader, the image desired by the operator or selected by the computer, of inversely automatic coding of the projected image. The image of the microfilms or microdocuments are arranged on an endless band which can be displaced in both senses by a translater so as to bring any one of the images in front of the optical system (1, 3). The band is composed of image supports which are hinged to each other so as to form a caterpillar type track. These supports include a rigid part carrying the hinges of fixing elements and a transparent part which encloses the microdocuments or portions of the microfilm.
