Abstract

Galvanic isolation of two electrical measuring networks is performed using an optical counter. A ramp generator, made up of an operational amplifier (1) and a zero reset device (2), furnishes a ramp signal linearly symmetrical with a zero potential point (earth). An operational amplifier (3) compares the ramp signal and the measuring signal. For a null measuring signal the comparator supplies as output, a symmetry signal. When the measure signal increases the output of the comparator becomes asymmetric. The output of the comparator directly feeds the photoemitting diode (4) of the optical coupler. The association of the phototransistor of the coupler with the operational amplifier (6) permits restitution at saturated level of the output signal of the comparator (3).
