Abstract

The appliance constitutes a hollow static pedestal (1) consisting of a cylinder with its axis vertical, bearing a top horizontal flange (1a) which in turn bears a transparent domed cover (3). There are several apertures (3a) in the domed cover with gauntlets (4a) affixed to it giving an airtight seal. The work table (5) within the dome is able to rotate about a hollow cylindrical centrally positioned vertical axle (2) and is supported by the static pedestal top (1a). Pref. the shelf (5a) bears tools etc; and sterile gases can be introduced via valves (10a) and they pass out through the central shaft. Foot pedals (24) actuate levers (23, 22) which actuate a counter-sprung (21) sliding pin (20) rotation lock.
