Abstract

A plastic sachet is formed by applying a length of rip tape transversely across a length of plastic film and holding it under tension flat against the film whilst it is secured to the film by e.g. a heated welding bar. The tape is then cut by e.g. a cutter to leave a length of the tape projecting beyond the edge of the film, and the film folded over along a line perpendicular to the rip tape. The superimposed edges of the film are then heat sealed together and the film is cut to form the sachet.
