Abstract

The valve automatically prevents the overfilling of sealed liquid containers. The shaft (10b) of a poppet valve (10) slides in the support body (11) mounted rigidly inside the tank on a tube (8) having perforations (9) to allow passage of liquid. The top of the valve is connected by a chain (27) to a spring loaded arm pivoted in a sealed (29) extension (30a) of the filling pipe (30). A second shaft (21) slides in the mounting block, parallel to the poppet valve and a ball (26) in a horizontal passage (25) may register with grooves (21a, 10c) in the shafts, such that when one shaft is free, the other is locked. The second shaft is actuated by the arm of a float.
