Abstract

The data search system makes use of a cinematograph film for storage cells (130, 131) for light or dark areas representing a data code and is associated with picture images on a corresponding film (132, 133). Recognition of the code enables the correct film image to be projected as in a teaching machine or micro-fiche viewer. The data processing circuit includes a data store for each film, a selector, a code converter and a control unit. The latter employs a logic circuit with AND and OR gate elements to manipulate the binary codes. Information from the control film is collected by a photocell scanner for conversion to electronic pulses, and is passed to a coincidence network before operating the selector and storage address units.
