Abstract

In the sterilisation of the surfaces of articles, by the initial application thereon of a chemically acting sterilising medium and subsequent flushing with sterile air, the surfaces are heated with flowing team prior to the application of the sterilising medium while for the subsequent flushing unheated sterile air is used. Advantageously, the chemically acting sterilising medium is supplied to the surfaces to be treated with the steam. In sterilisation with hydrogen peroxide, more efficient sterilisation is produced using less hydrogen peroxide and permitting this to be removed by the use of cold air, so that air heating equipment is not required.
