Abstract

A precision resistor has a coil and a resistive layer. The value of the resistor may be adjusted by trimming the resistive layer. The coefficient of resistive change with temperature of the layer is also adjusted, before assembly to the coil, so as to obtain an overall resistive change coefficient with temperature which is practically zero. The appropriate temperature coefficient is obtained by selecting a resistive material and by firing the material at a given temperature and for a set time.
