Abstract
An automatic detection system for the observation of moving objects by reflection of beams requires the extraction of a signal from a fluctuating signal accompanied by noise. The detector is able to operate on complex signals and is independent of slope of rise or fall time of the waveform. A signal is applied to a delay line or circulating memory through a sampling quantifier and which is slaved to a clock input. Sampled signals are applied to runners to produce partial average signals for division circuits producing two auxiliary variable signals using the maximum value of complex signal from a measuring circuit. Two comparators operating with a fixed reference threshold permit a logic AND circuit to detect absence or presence of useful signal.
