Abstract
A machine to sow rice seed in groups of several grains in dry or damp soil or in water has a hopper (1) associated with a conventional splined distributor (2) and drive shaft (4) of which the speed can be varied. The output varies with the speed of the machine. The seed falls from the hopper through duct (5) and falls into pockets (8) of the grouper-distributor. After loading, the pockets are covered by an endless belt running on three pulleys (10, 13, 14) until the moment when the seed is due to fall to the ground, at which point the belt continue its travel away from the disc. The seed is deposited by gravity onto the ground, and remains grouped with little dispersion.
