Abstract

The heater has a rectangular metal container with shielded electrical heating resistances (31, 32) along the base. The back face of the heater is covered with a plate (17) a little way in front of the wall. The top and bottom edges of this plate are perforated with a number of air inlet holes arranged in line. The hot air escapes through louvres (14) which are directed away from the wall. The draft created by the hot air causes a flow of cold air up a wall cooling space between the plate (17) and the wall. The cold air protects the wall from burn marks. The plate (17) is fixed to the rear face (16) of a covring hood forming the rear face (16), the front face of the heater, the upper face of the heater and the side faces.
