Abstract

The lights of the vehicle are covered with a special lens with the lens elements in reeded form (14). The outside of the lens is covered with a plastic layer (12) which has a light transmission coefficient of 20-50% and which incorporates a reflecting layer. The layer has a neutral filter density and thus covers all the visible spectrum. It is vacuum formed onto the lens glass and prevents light from outside the vehicle being reflected out again, giving the impression that the lights are operating. This can occur in strong sunlight etc.
