Abstract

The pressing of a blank of a deformable material between a flexible press-element and a die, where the flexible element is forced over a guide projection so that the blank adopts the contour of the die. The flexible press-element is pref. made from very hard polyurethane rubber with ihigh abrasion resistance and a hardness of 95 on the international rubber scale. The press is used to make e.g. steel wheel rims for motor cars.
