Abstract

The brake assembly comprises a double block brake with return springs. It has hydraulic cylinders on both sides, movably mounted by means of guide units with an opening, in the lengthways direction, in the brake levers. Additional brake weights are firmly attached to the guide units, with return springs and brake weights arranged in dependence on prescribed maximal loadings. A double hydraulic control unit, with two analogous control circuits, operates in conjunction with a hydraulic power unit and electric control unit to release staged braking in a series of regular braking steps. Ready adaptability to variable loads is provided, and construction is simplified.
