Abstract

The drive shaft has several sections and emerges from reduction gear box and transmits power to several cutters. The first section starts with a bevel gear receiving the drive from a bevel gear on the reduction gear and is fitted with a primary bearing and a secondary bearing which also acts as a sleeve coupling, connecting the first section with the second section. The secondary bearing is located before the bevel pinion drive to the first cutter which is fixed on the second section. Similar coupling sleeves join the other shaft sections and bevel gears transmit drive to the other cutters.
