Abstract

A foot pedal may be limited in travel, to limit engine or vehicle speed and reduce fuel consumption. A tube is connected to an anchor point by a cable which is attached to the tube by a screw. The lower end of a spring is connected to a ratchet while the upper end is connected to the screw. The ratchet is connected to a foot pedal through a flexible cable and compression spring attached to a clamp on the pedal. Foot pedal travel is limited by a claw which is held between the ratchet teeth by a blade spring. The claw is released by a cable which passes through a bracket and ferrule for a cable sleeve to a hand control.
