Abstract

A target just above the sea causes an image effect giving rise to erroneous position data. The exact position is determined using different frequencies in a radar with four horn antennas. Three oscillator outputs are amplified and passed through a transmit receive switch to a monopulse radar with four horn antennae. These signals are transmitted separately with a time interval. The three received signals pass through the switch to a sum channel and to two difference signal channels which are then amplified by low noise amplifiers. These signals are filtered and processed to obtain amplitude and phase signals which are digitally processed to give azimuth, elevation, height and range data.
