Abstract

The wire mesh cages for concrete reinforcement are formed from conventional sheets of bars welded in a factory. A machine folds these sheets to the desired forms ready for site installation, without cutting of individual bars to size and binding into cages on site, and reducing overall weight of steel used due to inherent fabric properties. The cages are prepared in various standard forms to suit structural components and site lapping is effected by sliding a smaller cage into adjacent cages. The cages are used for posts, beams, doorway frames etc., and are produced in standard sizes.
