Abstract

A transmission outstation at the remote TV receiver records the required data and it is transmitted via the telephone network to the data processing centre. The data includes individual TV receiver identification. Individual device addresses and timing information may be included in TV transmissions. The cost effectiveness of the system may be improved by using a data store in the outstation and a time-clock dailling unit for the transfer of data periodically. The outstation may include a control processor. A keyboard may be added to record the identity of the viewer.
