Abstract

The ballast weight fits into a cradle (1) which is permanently fixed to the diver's belt. The weight (12) has a broad groove cut in it from top to bottom. The cradle has two slots cut in it; one slot at the top (5), one slot is at the bottom (6). A flexible rubber strap (7) fits into the bottom slot, passes round the ballast weight and is then held into place by fitting into the top slot. The locking bar in the strap at (8) ensures the strap is secure. A pulling tab extends above the upper end of the strap.
