Abstract

Casement bolt with upper and lower rollers or rods (7, 8), a latch (4) and a closure mechanism, is of slender construction and designed to be accommodated within the frame of french windows. The mechanism is of the type embodying a probe lever (3), authorized by the handles, rotating in one sense to mobilize the latch (4) to the "open" station against elastic counter springs etc, and in the opposed sense to effect the retraction of the roller bearing rods (7, 8) into their respective latch catches via intermediary racks (6). A closure cylinder is used for locking the latch and rods in the closed position. A probe lever of 'L' shape with fulcrum at the node is utilized.
