Abstract

Polymsn. of alpha-olefins, partic, propene, butene-1, pentene-1, methyl-3 (or 4) pentane-1, or hexane-1, using a Ziegler-Natta stereospecific catalyst, and 0.01-10 pref. 0.1-1, mmoles per l. reaction medium, of furfural opt. substd. by alkyl or aryl, and opt. taking place in the presence of hydrogen, as in parent patent, uses pyrrole-2-carboxaldehyde or 1-metyl-pyrrole-2-carboxaldehyde instead of furfural (deriv.). Provides polymers of improved stereospecificity, partic, when hydrogen is also present.
