Abstract

The pressure switch has a flexible membrane across its pressure channel and a spring-loaded piston on the other side of the membrane and moved by it. The force required to move the piston can be adjusted by a screw that alters the spring compression. The piston has a radial arm protruding through the wall of the switch housing and operating leaf spring contacts enclosed in a cap arrangement that fixes to the outside of the housing. The cap forms part of a connector and the leaf spring contacts pass straight through to form the connector contacts.
