Abstract

Data communication equipment can use frequency modulation and differential phase demodulation of a carrier signal. The transmitter has a frequency modulator (3) to which is applied a modulated signal obtained from the data signal to be transmitted. This modulated signal is supplied by another modulator (9) and the fundamental component is applied to an input (10) of this modulator and a binary signal corresponding to the data signal is applied at a second input (4). The modulator (9) supplies the data clock signal with or without phase inversion according to the value of the binary signal. The differential phase demodulation is carried out by the receiver.
