Abstract

This linking system is used for connecting a number of machine tools each of which carries a guideway for the sliding table. These sliding tables carry workpieces and are moved into appropriate machining positions on the linked machine tool arrangement. The workpiece slide can carry more than one workpiece and this slide is clamped at required positions by pistons in the slidway which are actuated by compressed air. Pref. the slide consists of two spaced dove-tailed sectioned members (23) into which complementary sections on the workpiece slide. A removable alignment pin (5) is inserted in a bore in the top surface of one slide member.
