Abstract

The accelerator pedal (3) pivots on the spindle (4) to move the link (5) which is attached to the throttle lever (1) mounted on the spindle (2) of the butterfly valve plate of the carburettor. The link (5) is divided into two parts by the device (7) which permits the link (5) to increase in length when the throttle lever (1) reaches the position (1b) which corresponds to the maximum required engine speed. The device (7) consists of a capsule which is expanded by a fluid under pressure. The fluid is admitted to the capsule through a valve which is opened by a speed sensing device when the vehicle reaches the desired maximum speed.
