Abstract

The map elements (A, B1, B2, B3) are cut along the geographical meridians and along the lines of longitude, and each has peripheral flanges (C, D, E, F) along selected peripheral edges, cooperating with the flanges (C, D, E, F) of adjacent elements, to allow the latter to be readily assembled together, to define part or the whole of the world's surface. Pref. there are two round elements (A) each defining one of the polar regions and twelve curved elements (B1, B2, B3) whose edges are limited by the respective artic circle and the equator and by two lines of longitude spaced by 60 degrees. The elements (A, B1, B2, B3) can be rested together for storage and may be assembled on a cylindrical support ring, or placed side by side on a flat surface.
