Abstract
Difficulties of obtaining a regulated current source of high impedance and at low voltages independent of the current are overcome by a circuit suitable for applications such as current and power protection of semiconductor circuits. Current variations in a sensing resistor (1) cause a potential difference to be generated across it. Corrections for temperature effects are obtained from a thermistor (8) and resistor (7) connected in series across the sensing resistor (1). The voltage across the former resistor (7) is applied between the gate and source of a fluid effect transistor (4). A second field effect transistor (3), in association with a resistor (5) for correcting the sign of the output impedance, couples the first field effect transistor to two Darlington connected transistors (2, 6) in series with the sensing resistor. These transistors correct for the current variations.
